What's better than hydrocodone? (3 Replies, Read 8272 times)

Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 1 Status:	I have been currently on Lortab 7.5 hydrocodone (watson) for three years now. I am only required to take two lortab daily which that is bothering me. I started taking lortab 7.5 because of my back pain that were caused from car wreck. I ended up taking one more additional daily. 3 caps a day from Lortab. I only get 60 pills a month. I ran out rather quickly since with three caps every now and then. Because I figured that it's not really THAT enough for me. I am not into for a buzz. I am into for a ease for the pain since I am disability and such. I wonder if there's any better than Lortab 7.5? (I doubt the doctor would give me more and higher daily limits -- or lortab 10).

Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 3 Status:	Talk to your doctor and see if he can replace for a non narcotic at this point. If 3 a day is all you need, maybe a non narcotic will do..

Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 4 Status:	Hydrocodone is a control III. There are plenty of stronger drugs. Oxycodone, hydromorphone. Even fentanyl. They are control II's. Talking up to hundreds of times stronger. But I don't think you want that. But what is your real problem? The problem is that your receptors are used to the hydrocodone and it is less useful. If you need the narcotics because of severe pain, consider asking your doctor to rotate you to an equipotent medicine. For me, a rotation from oxycodone to hydromorphone or even to generic oral morphine can get me months before my dosages need to be raised. Sometimes weaker is better.
