I am on my 11th day of detoxing this horrific, so-called wonder drug. I was a 30 yr functioning heroin addict who finally got off with the help of Heantos in Viet Nam. I chose to get on suboxone for it's blocking component so that I wouldn't slip and get back on heroin. I was completely off heroin when I started subs. I took 6 mgs for 8 mos. I was recently laid off so with no more insurance I had to quit. I couldn't afford 450 dollars a month. The money wasn't the only reason I wanted to quit subs. Subs made me stupid with brain fog and very irritable.

So, on to the detox. I am not saying it is as bad as heroin becuase it is not but it does suck big time. First two days were not that bad. Weak with a minor headache. Third and fourth day was the worst. Feeling like I'd been hit by a truck. Noway could I have worked. And the agony came in waves. Sleep came in two hours spurts. Creepy crawly skin. And freezing to death. The remaining days were more of the same with a little improvement each day. Oh yea, diarrihia as constant from day 4 and has not abaited. Tomorrow is day 12. FOR GODS SAKES WHEN DOES THIS END??? Remember I started off with a clean balanced brain. If you were stepped down from an opiate to subs I expect your detox will be much worse. I thank God for Heantos every day.

On to the drug pushers that peddle this poison, the doctors. Make it clear I am not talking about using Subs to get off of an opiate like heroin or whatever. It may have a valid purpose for that. BUT GET OFF ASAP,,,, WITHIN A MONTH AT MOST. These doctors make me sick, figuratively and literally. They have the perfect drug now to enslave us opiate addicts. Even ex opiate addicts.

SUBOXONE IS AN OPIATE AND IT SUCKS AS A MAINTENANCE DRUG AND IT REALLY SUCKS WHEN IT IS TIME TO GET OFF THIS CRAP.

Hey, I did the Heantos treatment in 2000. I was using a gram aday back then. I was detoxed in less then a week. I felt a little tired after the detox was done, but that's it.. No withdrawals at all. That shit's awsome.. I don't know why many people know about it. Do you still have to take like 50 pills a day?? Can you tell me more about your experience with the detox?? My friend wants to go to Vietnam and try it. He has done every detox you can think of. Nothing seems to get him over the hump. But he don't like taking pills. That Suboxone, which is susposed be the best thing out there now, he said really sucked. He had to go back to using to get off of it.. Anyhow, please tell me how the treatment is done now.

Thanks,

Waismann Method Sees 110 Percent Increase in Suboxone® Detoxification Treatments from 2007 to 2008

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (Feb. 09, 2009) – The Waismann Method, leaders of opiate detoxification under anesthesia, announced an increase in patients seeking treatment for dependency to Suboxone®, also known as Subutex® or Buprenorphine from 2007 to 2008. In addition, findings from an online survey revealed that more than 66 percent of respondents who are currently taking Suboxone to treat a dependency to opiates do not feel like they could stop taking it without assistance. Suboxone is a medication prescribed by doctors to treat opiate dependency.
“Suboxone is referred to as a cure for dependency to opiate-based painkillers including Oxycontin®, Vicodin®, Lortab® and Fentanyl, however, because it is half-opiate in composition it can create the same type of physical reliance as any other opiate,” said Clare Kavin, executive director for the Waismann Method. “Many patients have the misconception that because this drug is prescribed by their doctors that it is safe and effective, but they must be educated on the potential risks. While I commend the efforts of the program to reduce disease, crime and addiction that can stem from drug abuse, Suboxone doesn’t fix the underlying problem of physical dependency.”
According to the survey, of those using Suboxone to treat a dependency:
54% said they “were NOT told “that they could develop physical dependency to Suboxone.
89 % said they always experience withdrawals if they miss a dose of the drug.
66 % said they could not stop taking Suboxone without assistance.
More than 41 percent said they had been taking Suboxone longer than originally prescribed.
“Suboxone is becoming more readily available and we are learning that people with dependencies are abusing and selling it in the same way as drugs like Oxycontin and Methadone,” said Kavin. “We hope this is a wake-up call to physicians that this drug has the potential to be a dangerous addition to the slew of prescription drugs currently being abused”.

Whenever I detox I treat with enough immodium to form normal stools. Supposedly it stays in the gut.
http://www.rxlist.com/suboxone-drug.htm explains that suboxone binds to two of the same three receptors that opiods bind to, leaving only the kappa receptor free.

One site claims that allows your regular endorphins to bind to the kappa so you will still produce endorphins, which are blocked by regular narcotics.

But it sounds like a hard kick. Did you do any tapering? Or did you just run out and have to kick all at once?

Can the pills be split? Do they have any coating or time release? If the pills can be split you can make the whole mess easier.

Did you consider going to a doctor for promethazine and klonipin to make the detox easier? Those are cheap drugs.
